Notes about the Orton VentMaster Option
When ordering a Ready-To-Ship kiln with the Orton VentMaster Option, you will need to prepare your kiln to attach the VentMaster when it arrives. The VentMaster installation process is outlined in the Orton VentMaster Instruction Manual.

On pages 5 and 6 you will find diagrams to help you determine where those holes should be drilled for your kiln design. Drilling these holes is SUPER easy and something anyone can do. This does not require any special skills or knowledge base. You'll just need some basic tools and you'll be ready to go!
Installing the VentMaster to your kiln is very easy and the directions are very clear. Once the VentMaster is attached to your kiln you can then decide exactly how you want to direct the kiln fumes out of your workspace.

A deluxe, rock-solid kiln stand with locking casters, is now an option. STANDS ARE NOT INCLUDED. Please check the options box if you would like a stand included with your kiln order. You will enjoy the convenience of effortlessly moving the kiln out of the way when not in use. The stand is rock solid. It fits together with interlocking components that assemble with one size of bolt. (Ships unassembled.)
The 12” tall stand raises the kiln to a convenient height for loading and unloading. Should you need a vent, merely slide the collection cup of an Orton vent into a mounting bracket on the top of the stand.
Take advantage of the heat that radiates from the kiln. Load greenware on the lower shelf. The heat from the kiln will dry the ware to prepare it for the next firing. Save the time and electrical expense of drying the ware inside the kiln.
I am a Skutt person. I have used skutt kilns at my school for years. In the spring when we were forced into insolation, I began looking for a personal kiln for home. My daughter, who is an Art major and currently working in clay, needed a way fire some pieces for submissions into art shows. Our solution was to find a kiln and work from home. Because covid, everything was hard to find. Daughter strongly recommended I look into Paragon kilns (based on her use with them in the studios at her school) I also wanted to shop "local" as possible, which in this case meant finding something in Texas. I found Kiln Frog online and a paragon that would be ideal for home use. And Paragon's are built in Texas! Fast-forward to my new kiln - I am very impressed. Easy to use and understand (based on prior knowledge of firing) Our first firing was for porcelain (whoa!) so we hit the ground running! I also want to say "props" to Kiln Frog for including a rolling stand as part of deal I got with my kiln. That's a game changer in itself. My one observation about the Paragon is that the controller box is overly big and sticks out from the body of the kiln (like a lot). Just different and a bit awkward to work around. Great service from the Kiln Frog peeps and overall I love my kiln :)
