The venerable SC-2 has been in production since 1997. It is a proven design that we have steadily refined over the years. Thousands of artists in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Japan love their SC-2.
The sleek SC-2 Pro has the same ceramic fiber firing chamber as the standard SC-2. In addition, the SC-2 Pro features a brushed stainless steel door with an easy-to-open 9” long wooden handle. The door opens and closes gently with an adjustable, spring-loaded catch on the bottom. The control panel is sloped for easy viewing and operation of the controller. The doors on both kilns open 180 degrees to give you full access to the interior. The SC-2 Pro also has an easy-access back panel for quick maintenance.
Solid State Relay
The SC-2 Pro elements are powered by a quiet, solid-state relay. For your security, the solid-state relay is backed by a mechanical safety relay that turns off the heating elements should the solid-state relay ever fail.
A Proven Design
The high-tech ceramic fiber firing chamber is wrapped in a steel inner case. The outer steel case remains cool due to the air gap under it. In addition, the case is slotted for air circulation. Electrical components, located in the base, stay cool even at extended hold times.
Even Heat Distribution
As with the standard SC-2, the SC-2 Pro has separate heating elements in the left and right sides of the firing chamber. The back of the chamber has no element, so the heat distribution in the SC-2 Pro is even throughout the firing chamber because heat does not build up in the back.
Adjustable Door Catch
The Door Catch is located on the bottom edge of the door, just below the handle. This catch consists of a spring-loaded, steel ball-bearing mounted in a round, adjustable brass barrel housing. The ball latch will rest in a small depression located on the top edge of the control panel. The outer circumference of this brass barrel is threaded, so it can be screwed in and out to adjust the tension on the door. Simply adjust this barrel to get the tension you want. To increase the latching force, screw the adjustable housing out. To decrease the latching force, screw the adjustable housing in.

What is Lost Wax Casting? It is the process of making or carving a shape in wax, then making a mold of the wax shape, and then casting that shape into metal from the mold. The mold is a negative image of the wax. The wax is melted out of the mold through hollow channels called sprues. Lost wax burnout is the process of preparing a casting mold for the melted metal that will be poured into it.
Stainless Steel Wax Trays
If you want to do Lost Wax Casting, you'll need a stainless steel wax tray. Here's the one you'll need for this kiln; a Stainless Steel Wax Tray, 7″ X 7.″ This Stainless Steel Wax Tray system will fit well in your kiln and allow you to do lots of wax burnout.
Place your molds on the removable expanded metal top. The wax will drip from the molds into the tray underneath. Then remove the wax tray before the kiln gets hotter than 300°F / 148°C. Note: Burning wax inside a kiln can damage the firebricks. Check out this 7" x 7" Stainless Steel Wax Tray out to help you in your projects. Here's the link.

Great little oven!
My main purpose for this model is for making folding knives, and small fixed blades. Seriously, this oven does a great job and because I have limited space in my shop it barely takes up any space. And the price was in my budget and it was ready to ship in 7 days.

Paragon Kiln - SC2 Pro (READY to SHIP)
Overall it is a super nice kiln... It is small so it does not need a lot of space... It is perfect for very small projects... the control panel is very easy to program... because it is ready to ship it arrived in just a couple of days... no set up required. just plug it in and get creative... it does have a front door for loading where as I prefer a top loader... and again it is for very small projects... but overall.... yes I would recommend this kiln if your space is limited and your working on small projects....

Quiet is good!!!
The solid state relays in this kiln are fantastic. No more click-click from the mechanical relays!!! Since this kiln is a Paragon, you know it will last. Win-Win.

Love it
Great small kiln! Uses regular plug— able to do so much with it, jewelry, glass and even small ceramic projects.
