The 2527HE Freedom Series kiln is made of 3" brick for extra insulation and energy efficiency. It is equipped with the Bartlett Instruments 12-key electronic controller with six ramp-hold user programs and multiple features including delay start, preheat, cone offset, skip step and many more for precise firings every time. Messages and Information are available for reviewing a firing profile before or during the firing, viewing the current segment the firing is in, and cone table for easy look up of temperature and cone number equivalents.
Every Freedom Series kiln ships with its own Freedom Kit, an emergency repair kit filled with over $200 worth of items including two elements, a thermocouple, pint of mortar, crimping tool and wiring schematic.
All Freedom Series kilns also include a Furniture Kit (3-4 layers of shelves, posts and kiln wash) plus an assorted Stilt Kit with 33 stilts for firing glaze pieces.
Freedom Kilns 23" wide or larger are equipped with a lid lift assist which makes opening and closing the kiln smooth and easy.

Should I Upgrade This to A Dual Media Kiln?
Dual Media kilns are designed for the individual or business that works with multiple media. The dual design for reaching high firing temperatures for stoneware, pottery, ceramics, and the lid element for fusing glass provides the versatility needed. You can turn the lid element on and off when you need it saving your element's life and electricity. Oval dual media kilns are built with a 2" blank brick row in the first section of the kiln to protect the elements when loading and unloading the kiln. All Dual Media models high fire to 2350°F and have a lid element to fuse glass.
Why Upgrade from Mechanical Relays to Solid-State Relays?
Mechanical Relays, which come standard on most kilns have internal moving parts which over time wear out and need to be replaced. Kiln manufacturers recommend you replace your mechanical relays approximately every 2 years. Solid-state relays have no moving parts and last far longer than standard mechanical relays and offer far better temperature control during hold times. Since solid-state relays also have no moving parts to wear out, they NEVER need to be replaced. You will notice that solid-state relays are silent. The only sound you will hear is just the reassuring hum of the heating elements. So, this factory upgrade saves you potential down time from having to wait for new relays to arrive, potential over-fires from relays sticking in the closed position, potential aggravation from having to learn how to remove and replace the mechanical relays yourself. We think this upgrade is well worth the cost and will save you time and aggravation over the life of your kiln.
