Top Load
The HF 1210-B is a top loading design and offers a chamber 11.25" diameter x 13.5" deep. The HF 1210-B is built with 3" firebrick allowing it to reach temperature easier.
Wonderful Lid Handle
We love handles. Handles have to be properly sized and shaped for the job. Our lid handles make this point by offering an 8" handle that's easy to grasp and operate. These wide, corner mounted handle allows for confident and easy lifting, even with a gloved hand. It's unlike any other and it's a joy to use.
2 Position Lid Vent
The HF 1210-B is equipped with a 2 position lid vent. Perfect for speeding up the cooling process.
Swing View Equipped
The HF 1210-B temperature controls are fitted to our Swing View Adjustable Enclosure. The swing view is a pivoting, swing-up enclosure that allows you to rotate the control to a comfortable viewing and programming angle. Once you're done, lay it back down to see it from across your studio. It's that simple.
The swing view pairs well with touchscreen controls like the TAP II, Icon+ and Icon as viewing angle can be perfectly aligned. You'll love it.
3" Firebrick with No Loss in Chamber Volume
Historically kiln designs were based on 2-1/2" firebrick. As 3" firebrick began to show favor in high temperature designs many kiln manufacturers simply
reduced the firing chamber size to accommodate the thicker firebrick while leaving the outside dimensions the same.
At Evenheat we took a different direction. Instead of making the chamber smaller we kept it the same while increasing the outside dimensions. In this way there is no loss in chamber volume and common, standard kiln
furniture would continue to fit. Nice.
Swing-Away Peephole Covers
Our kiln designs feature swing-away peephole covers as opposed to plugs. Plugs get lost and they get broken. Our attached peephole covers remain on the kiln and simply swing open and closed. You won't lose them and they certainly won't break.
Lid Prop
The HF 1210-B is provided with a lid prop bar that positively keeps the lid in the open position. Simple operation is made even easier with our well designed lid handle.
Relay Access Port
The HF 1210-B incorporates our Relay Access Port for simple, no-panel-off relay replacement. Simply remove the access plate to gain access to the mechanical relays. There's no need to remove the control panel and dig into the internal wiring. It's absolutely simple and effective and all it takes is a screwdriver!
It's a given that mechanical relays will fail at some point. This relay access port really comes in handy when they do.
Full Stainless Steel Jackets
Multi-section, multi-jacketed kilns were conceived to lower production costs for the kiln manufacturer and to make life easier for the person installing the kiln. These are worthy goals but they come at the cost of kiln quality. It's a trade off we're not willing to make.
We build our kilns with full stainless jackets from top to bottom. Full stainless jackets mean absolutely solid, life extending construction. There are no leaks, no shifting and no weakness. Insist on Full Stainless Jackets for true build quality.
Options:
Multiple Control Options
The HF 1210B is available in a variety of controls including the Icon, Icon+, Tap II and Rampmaster 2. At
Evenheat we take the best control platforms on the market and make them even better by adding Special Limits thermocouples for precise temperature sensing and non-metallic faceplates for stellar Wi-Fi
reception for on-line Apps. Visit our Controls tab to learn more about our controls and why they represent the very best that you can get.
Quiet Drive Solid State Relay Option
The HF 1210B is available with our Quiet Drive Solid State Relay option. Our Quiet Drive Solid State Relay System offers tight temperature control, high reliability and increased heating element life. The Quiet Drive is arguably the best designed and best performing solid state system on the market.
Why Upgrade from Mechanical Relays to Solid-State Relays?
Mechanical Relays, which come standard on most kilns have internal moving parts which over time wear out and need to be replaced. Kiln manufacturers recommend you replace your mechanical relays approximately every 2 years. Solid-state relays have no moving parts and last far longer than standard mechanical relays and offer far better temperature control during hold times. Since solid-state relays also have no moving parts to wear out, they NEVER need to be replaced. You will notice that solid-state relays are silent. The only sound you will hear is just the reassuring hum of the heating elements. So, this factory upgrade saves you potential down time from having to wait for new relays to arrive, potential over-fires from relays sticking in the closed position, potential aggravation from having to learn how to remove and replace the mechanical relays yourself. We think this upgrade is well worth the cost and will save you time and aggravation over the life of your kiln.
About the NEW Icon Basic Touchscreen Controller...
The Icon basic touchscreen controller is built around Bartlett's new Spark platform and brings touchscreen design to the market at a lower price point. The Icon / Spark was rigorously field-tested by Bartlett, Evenheat and others over the latter course of 2023. Programming was found to be clean and simple. User interaction with the display was deemed excellent. As expected, the Quiet Drive Solid State relay performed beautifully. In the end, victory. As with other Evenheat control designs, the Icon adds to the existing Spark control platform with improvements like Special Limits thermocouples for precise temperature sensing and non-metallic faceplates for excellent Wi-Fi reception for the Bartlett on-line App. The Icon brings outstanding value and performance to the marketplace. **Kilnfrog Note: This is not the same controller as the Genesis-Mini which is the smaller version of the Icon+/Genesis 2.0 Controller. The Icon Basic, although it is a touchscreen, is a basic controller that does not have the same functionality as the Icon+ or the TAP controllers.
Ordering-receiving: it came sooner than expected. It’s heavy but two strong adults can manage it. It was missing two items but KilnFrog immediately got those for me.
Using it: the best size for my home studio! It’s small, but just a 24 hour cycle for glaze or bisque, so you can really push product through faster than a community kiln. Doesn’t produce much extra (room) heat. We use it in a garage, with the doors and window open until it cools off.
