The Ceram-a-Glass JK Squared 22 is designed for the artist that has a passion for all the fired arts... fusing, slumping, clay work, bisqueware, mold making, casting, glazing and more! This is a high capacity kiln and can really take you to the next level.

What is unique about the Ceram-a-Glass series kiln is that it has BOTH Ceramic and Glass firing modes. The Glass mode gives the uniform top blast of heat to evenly heat the glass on the shelf with some of the side coils working to help bring the kiln to temperature. The Ceramic mode is all side firing that is great for the ceramics and glazes.  The Ceramic mode will help glass casters hold at 1700°F without over heating the lid coils. This is important to you because, if you over heat the lid coils on a continuous basis, it could burn out your coils quickly and could possible cause damage to your lid. And, that is never a good thing.

The shelf kit is important to have if.... you are planning to fire clay and glass. You'll want different shelves for glass and clay, plus you'll want tall posts to lift the shelf up higher when you are working with glass!  This is a great thing!

Why Upgrade from Mechanical Relays to Solid-State Relays?

Mechanical Relays, which come standard on most kilns have internal moving parts which over time wear out and need to be replaced.  Kiln manufacturers recommend you replace your mechanical relays approximately every 2 years.  Solid-state relays have no moving parts and last far longer than standard mechanical relays and offer far better temperature control during hold times.  Since solid-state relays also have no moving parts to wear out, they NEVER need to be replaced.  You will notice that solid-state relays are silent.  The only sound you will hear is just the reassuring hum of the heating elements.  So, this factory upgrade saves you potential down time from having to wait for new relays to arrive, potential over-fires from relays sticking in the closed position, potential aggravation from having to learn how to remove and replace the mechanical relays yourself.  We think this upgrade is well worth the cost and will save you time and aggravation over the life of your kiln.
