An S-type thermocouple wire is most often used for tighter accuracy in high firing kilns. S-Type thermocouples typically last longer than K-type thermos because they are made with higher temp wire and their sheaths are made of stronger ceramic materials. Does not include ceramic block, thermocouple and protection tube only.
