Measuring in at 17" x 17" x 6.5" the Studio Pro 17 is the largest 120V glass firing kiln in the industry and features surface mounted heating elements for maximum heat transfer, Superwool fiber lid for efficiency, and increased firing speed potential, Dual Access Design for precision glass placement. Designed with structural firebrick and high-efficiency super wool fiber, the Studio Pro 17 defines High Performance in a large Home Studio Design.
Like the Original Studio Pro, the design of the Studio Pro 17 was driven by the demands of glass work. Glass work is a fairly active process. It relies heavily on visual cues, opening, and closing while firing, fast action and all sorts of movement. It's a lot of fun and the Studio Pro 17 only adds to the enjoyment. It doesn't hinder, compromise or get in the way. It just works well. The Evenheat Studio Pro 17 glass kiln also works very well in the more traditional firing styles such as metal clays, low fire ceramics, enamels, and china painting. While not as active as glass, these types of firings do require a kiln that's properly designed and built for use. Since the Studio Pro 17 is an Evenheat design, you know you're getting that as well. The Studio Pro 17 will fire any ware up to 1650°F (900°C).
The Studio Pro 17 Furniture Kit includes one (1) 16” square shelf, four (4) 1” posts, a 24oz. bottle of kin wash and a haik brush.
Why Upgrade from Mechanical Relays to Solid-State Relays?
Mechanical Relays, which come standard on most kilns have internal moving parts which over time wear out and need to be replaced. Kiln manufacturers recommend you replace your mechanical relays approximately every 2 years. Solid-state relays have no moving parts and last far longer than standard mechanical relays and offer far better temperature control during hold times. Since solid-state relays also have no moving parts to wear out, they NEVER need to be replaced. You will notice that solid-state relays are silent. The only sound you will hear is just the reassuring hum of the heating elements. So, this factory upgrade saves you potential down time from having to wait for new relays to arrive, potential over-fires from relays sticking in the closed position, potential aggravation from having to learn how to remove and replace the mechanical relays yourself. We think this upgrade is well worth the cost and will save you time and aggravation over the life of your kiln.
Super Patient with me
The lead time kept changing, but I know that was not the fault of Kiln Frog. They kept me apprised along the way and were super sweet and patient with me as I grew increasingly more impatient and anxious. Good folks.
