Why Hot Shot Series?
Hot Shot has multiple different series available for any purpose. Although the Hot Shot line was developed for heat treating, we've tested them with glass and ceramics and they perform incredibly well!
Lost Wax Burnout Vent Hole/Plug
Equipped with a vent hole/plug with a diameter of Ø.75 inches, which is essential for the burnout process. This feature allows for proper ventilation of the wax
as it melts away from the mold.
Cool Touch Technology
Hot Shot Oven & Kilns are equipped with Cool-Touch Technology that provides a safe external temperature to allow for safer operation and protection of its surroundings. Each oven comes with a removable high-density fiber kiln floor. This is ideal to assist with project setup or if it needs to be replaced. It is built with a high-quality 304 stainless-steel core construction with a fan-cooled external powder-coated enclosure. It features a dual-layer air plenum for external heat management and precise temperature control.
Side Opening Fiber Lined Door with Cool Touch Handle
Using a heat-treating oven entails removing very hot material from the core to go to the next phase of the process. This oven is designed to have a side-opening door that can open far enough to not be in the way. The handle is designed for a one-handed operation for easy and quick removal of the material. Safety is a key concern so the cool touch handle is made from high-quality stainless steel. In addition, the door opens completely out of the way, to keep users safe.
Hot Shot ovens include a fiber-lined door and full fiber body, which absorbs less heat than a firebrick kiln. For this reason, Hot Shot ovens fire and cool faster when programmed to so you can use your Hot Shot kiln to fire small projects quickly!
Cooling Fan
Hot Shot Ovens come standard with a rear vented cooling fan. The oven fan turns on automatically when the kiln is in operation. While the cooling fan stays on, the outer surface of the oven will stay within 68°F/20°C of room ambient. Please make sure to keep the fan unit at least 3 inches from any wall or obstruction.
Solid State Relays INCLUDED (WOW!)
All Hot Shot ovens come standard with a solid-state relay. Having a solid-state relay eliminates the distractive clicking noise that a mechanical relay makes. A solid-state relay is also more dependable and provides a longer life expectancy than a mechanical relay. Best of all, Solid-state relays deliver better temperature regulation, keeping you closer to your target temperature every step of your firing program.
Cutting Edge Performance
High-efficiency technology allows you to reach the maximum temperature of 1850 degrees F/1010 Degrees C with the use of the on-screen controller. This unit is equipped with a kiln type “K” thermocouple and 16AWG Kanthal A-1 heating element.
Each piece of insulation is routered to fit perfectly together. This allows for the oven to maintain the temperature perfectly and not fluctuate due to gaps or poor fit. Each piece is routered to fit the heating element perfectly, so it has a snug fit. Each oven comes with a removable high-density kiln floor. This is ideal to assist with project setup or if it needs to be replaced.
SPARK Controller
Comes standard with a user-friendly, full touch screen interface for easy operation and precise control of
the kiln's settings.
The TAP Controller from SDS Industries (Upgrade)
The Most Advanced Kiln Control Technology Available! TAP (Temperature Automation by Proportional-Integral-Derivative) is the first commercially available consumer kiln controller that utilizes an intuitive graphical user interface to enable the glass or ceramic artist to immediately start programming and operating their kiln.
For all of us less technical, regular folks... this means interactive touch screen! TAP is designed with similar functionality to many current 3-key and 12-key controllers, such as an Orton AutoFire® 3000 or the Sentry 2.0 Controller. However, its new technology provides the user with easier programming, more memory, and ultimately more control.
This Controller will come with a WiFi Dongle which is a plug and play device that functions as a receiver for your controller. **IMPORTANT: This Dongle can ONLY receive 2.4, NOT 5ghz!
Need more information... download the TAP User Manual.
Make your firings a smoother and easier process with TAP Controller's Mobile App. Remote monitor your firings with by-the-minute updates. TAP Mobile has the ability to make it easy to create, modify and update schedules remotely. Best of all, you can get push notifications about schedule step advancement, firing completion, and error conditions. Download the TAP Mobile app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store, and begin monitoring your kiln remotely!
Programmable Alarm
Each unit comes standard with an integrated alarm that can be set to alert the user when a desired point or temperature is reached in the program.
We also have integrated a safety door switch that will de-energize the heating element when the door is open.
