If you live in Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada, we are happy to ship to a freight forwarder in the continental US for free, then you pay the freight from there. This saves you money and also lets you take advantage of the free shipping benefits on our site. So, all you pay is from the freight forwarder to you and, we promise, that's a really big savings!
Okay, so what's a freight forwarder?
The business dictionary online defines it as.... "Firm specializing in arranging storage and shipping of merchandise on behalf of its shippers. It usually provides a full range of services including: tracking inland transportation, preparation of shipping and export documents, warehousing, booking cargo space, negotiating freight charges, freight consolidation, cargo insurance, and filing of insurance claims. Freight forwarders usually ship under their own bills of lading or air waybills (called house bill of lading or house air waybill) and their agents or associates at the destination (overseas freight forwarders) provide document delivery, deconsolidation, and freight collection services."

Canada: For shipping to Canada we'll include the invoice with the shipment and make sure the customs forms are included too. Remember, in addition to the shipping, you'll need to pay your duties/taxes too. The easiest ways to get this accomplished is by using Gateway Custom Brokers. They have the capability of clearing shipments from Halifax to Victoria.

Freight Forwarders will need: The weight of the item and the dimensions of the package. For 240V kilns, check the shipping weight on our website on the kiln you want and then give the freight forwarder the dimensions of 36" x 40" x 36" that will give you a close idea of your freight costs. For 120V kilns, do the same weight check, and use the dimensions of 24"x26"x30".
Now that you have your quote you are ready to buy your kiln. Please note on the purchase where to ship the kiln and, of course, you can send us an email if you have questions! Please let us know if you have a quote number from your freight forwarder and we'll place that on the shipping information. It will make it easier for them to get the package to you.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW: If you are ordering a larger kiln, there will be CRATING FEES for all larger OLYMPIC kilns going to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and South America, Mexico, Off Shore Islands, Etc. As of 11/15/2021 that fee is $200. Other manufacturers may also impose a fee based on the size of the kiln, the route, and the destination. These fees will be handled on a case by case basis. KilnFrog, LLC will inform you if/when the manufacturer informs us of any additional charges.
