Go deep with Evenheat's Extreme Depth, KF Series Ovens.
The Extreme Depth models include all the great features of the standard KF Series ovens like swing-out doors and cool-touch handles, full stainless jackets and corner mounted hinge assemblies.
Extreme Depth models are available in depths from 31.5" all the way up to 49.5". They feature dual doors and share the side-element-only design of the LB Series for phenomenal temperature distribution.
The KF 45 Extreme Depth is designed exclusively for heat treating and are capable of all heat-treating processes up to 2200°F (1204°C). Users include sword makers, volume knife and heat treaters, Damascus steelmakers and anyone needing lots of real estate.

Chamber Depths from 31.5" to 49.5"
The KF Extreme Series are designed for long work such as Damascus steel production, firearm parts and of course swords and beyond. Chamber depths start at 31.5" and go all the way to 49.5".
Side-Only Heating Elements
KF Extreme models are designed with side-only heating elements. This is the same design that is used in our LB Series that provides excellent temperature distribution along the entire length of the chamber.
Dual Side Opening Doors
The extra deep chambers of the KF Extreme's require the use of dual doors, front and back.
Cool Touch Handles
The handles/latches on our swing out doors are conveniently located at the front of the door, not hidden along the side. These spring loaded, phenolic handles are cool to the touch, one-handed in design and serve as the door latches as well.
Relay Access Port
All KF Extreme models incorporate our Relay Access Port for simple, no-panel-off relay replacement. Simply remove the access plate to gain access to the relay. There's no need to remove the control panel and dig into the internal wiring. It's absolutely simple and effective and all it takes is a screwdriver!
It's a given that mechanical relays will fail at some point. This relay access port really comes in handy when they do.
Door Shields
The KF Extreme's feature door shields to provide protection against firebrick damage as well as to reduce the temperature seen at the doors and door handles.
Swing View Equipped
Our TAP II and Rampmaster temperature controls are fitted to our Swing View Adjustable Enclosure. The swing view is a pivoting, swing-up enclosure that allows you to rotate the control to a comfortable viewing and programming angle. Once you're done, lay it back down to see it from across your shop. It's that simple.
The swing view pairs well with touchscreen controls like the TAP II as viewing angle can be perfectly aligned. You'll love it.
Firebrick Construction
Like all our heat treat ovens, KF Extreme models are built completely of firebrick. Firebrick has the desired characteristic of storing heat and then releasing it slowly and gently during the soak/hold portion of the
process. It's this particular quality that serves the heat treat process so well.
Loud Alarm Output Jack
A Loud Alarm output jack is included to connect our optional Loud Alarm. Enjoy 80db of irritating alarm bliss and never miss another quench.
2200°F Maximum Temperature
The maximum usable temperature for the KF Extreme models is 2200°F (1204°C). This maximum is well within the range for the vast majority of steels used by knife makers and machine shops.
This maximum temperature is limited by the heating element wire used. We use a Sandvik Nickel-Chrome alloy wire for all KF Extreme model heating elements. This alloy has proven to last, it tends to stay put and
generally plays very nice when used at temps below 2200°F.
Maintenance Parts Tag
To assist you in replacing worn items we have included a maintenance parts tag indicating the proper Evenheat part numbers for anticipated maintenance items. Wish we had this decades ago.
Strong Stand and Tool Rests
Stands are strong and include a tool rest at each end. Cool!
Options:
TAP II or Rampmaster Controls Option
KF Extreme models are available with your choice of the TAP II or Rampmaster temperature controllers. Check out our Controls tab for detailed descriptions of both controls.
Quiet Drive Solid State Relay Option
All KF Extreme models are available with our Quiet Drive Solid State Relay option. Our Quiet Drive Solid State Relay System offers tight temperature control, high reliability and increased heating element life. The Quiet Drive is arguably the best designed and best performing solid state system on the market.
Power Interrupt Switch Option
The Power Interrupt Switch removes power from all heating elements as the door is opened and re-applies power as the door is closed. The switch used for this feature is a true safety switch and is designed specifically for safety applications. This safety switch will literally tear apart and open any welded or stuck contacts - true safety!
Why Upgrade from Mechanical Relays to Solid-State Relays?
Mechanical Relays, which come standard on most kilns have internal moving parts which over time wear out and need to be replaced. Kiln manufacturers recommend you replace your mechanical relays approximately every 2 years. Solid-state relays have no moving parts and last far longer than standard mechanical relays and offer far better temperature control during hold times. Since solid-state relays also have no moving parts to wear out, they NEVER need to be replaced. You will notice that solid-state relays are silent. The only sound you will hear is just the reassuring hum of the heating elements. So, this factory upgrade saves you potential down time from having to wait for new relays to arrive, potential over-fires from relays sticking in the closed position, potential aggravation from having to learn how to remove and replace the mechanical relays yourself. We think this upgrade is well worth the cost and will save you time and aggravation over the life of your kiln.
