Preparing for your Home Delivery
Home Delivery is a basic service that DOES NOT include kiln setup, placement, uncrating kiln, or disposal of crating and packaging materials.
Additional delivery charges could occur for delivery addresses that are not accessible by lift-gate truck or commercial vehicles. An example of this type of situation would be a home located on a winding dirt road on the side of a mountain or an extra-long driveway. Please note that your shipment will arrive on a 30 - 50ft long 18-wheeler. These trucks cannot access every road in the US and cannot travel on gravel roads. To avoid extra charges, you may choose to pick up your kiln or equipment at your local freight terminal or, you could meet the driver and receive your kiln at a designated location.
Kiln Frog does not provide additional freight services. If you require additional delivery options, please contract directly with the shipper or a private contractor. Kiln Frog cannot be held responsible for any damages, due to the additional delivery services.
We ship many of our orders via UPS ground unless otherwise instructed, so we must have a street address (no PO boxes) for delivery.
When shipping and receiving kilns, it is important to ALWAYS INSPECT YOUR SHIPMENT BEFORE SIGNING FOR IT!!! Once you sign for receipt of a shipment: Kiln Frog can no longer be held responsible, in any way, for any damages which may occur or become apparent afterwards.
We cannot be held responsible for any additional shipping or repair charges which may be required to rectify the situation. If you find concealed damage after signing for receipt of a shipment, you should immediately begin a 'concealed damage' claim with the shipping company.
Freight shipped inside vs. outside the Contiguous U.S.
We ship freight only to the 48 interior states. The advertised shipping rates only applies to the 48 interior states. Anything shipped outside of that area, must be delivered to a freight forwarder that you must set up. Once the freight is delivered to the freight forwarder of your choosing, Kiln Frog is no longer responsible for your delivery.
What if my shipment is damaged or something is missing?
All merchandise is closely inspected prior to shipping. Damage in transit is the responsibility of the carrier. So, please read the following information carefully -- it could save you a lot of hassle!
- When signing for a delivery, if the package appears to be only slightly damaged, please write “This Package Shows Damage." on Freight Bill, and then take picture. This will protect you and the manufacturer in the case of unseen damage.
- If the packaging seems significantly damaged, you can opt to refuse the delivery. Please notify us so IMMEDIATELY, so that we can inform the manufacturer to expect the return shipment. We will work with the manufacturer to quickly build you a replacement kiln.
- If your freight shipment is missing any of the boxes as indicated on the freight bill, Please write, “This shipment is short by X packages.” This is very important - The freight company, Kiln Frog and the kiln manufacturer will not be responsible if you sign the Freight Bill without noting any shortages.
What happens if I want to return my purchase?
All returned merchandise is subject to a 15% restocking charge. Before returning merchandise, YOU MUST call us for authorization and instructions as we will need to obtain a "Return Goods Authorization" from the manufacturer. No cash refunds.
