The Paragon SC-3 digital kiln is slightly larger than the SC2, which still makes it an outstanding travel kiln, but allows you to do bigger stuff! It fires metal, clay, light ceramics, decals, china paint, enameling, and glass.

The door opens 180 degrees for safe and easy loading, which is a really an excellent feature! Plus, it has a built-in base so, no extra stand is needed.

The Paragon SC-3 digital kiln has a fast-firing element that is embedded in the firing chamber shell. This allows the kiln to heat from the sides and back, so it can reach about 1700°F in twenty minutes. For a metal clay artist, this is heaven!

Additionally, the high-tech ceramic fiber firing chamber is wrapped in a steel inner case allowing the outer steel case to remain cool due to the layer of air between it. Electrical components, located in the base, will even stay cool even at extended hold times.

Stainless Steel Wax Trays

Use a Stainless Steel Wax Tray, 7″ X 7.″ This Stainless Steel Wax Tray system will fit well in your kiln and allow you to do lots of production work. Place molds on the removable expanded metal top. The wax will drip from the molds. Then remove the wax tray before the kiln gets hotter than 300°F / 148°C. Note: Burning wax inside a kiln can damage the firebricks. Check out a 7 x 7" Stainless Steel Wax Tray to fit in this kiln here.

The right kiln at the right price

Excellent - the kiln has exceeded my expectations in what I'm using it for (Lost wax burnout of models made in a FormLabs 3d printer).

Paragon Kiln - SC3

Completely satisfied with this kiln. I'm using it for enameling and PMC. I find it easy to change from one medium to another. Enjoy having a tool I can trust to help me accomplish what I love to create.

Paragon sc3

Very nice kiln. Able to be in garage at freezing temp. Just make sure to get room or inside kiln temp higher than freezing before turning on relay or you may get TCL but it is not an actual problem. Just cold!! It's a good size for all my needs for the time being. Definitely need an upgrade if you want to move to bigger things but it can create good sized pieces in a variety of materials. Mine for glass

A Purchase Made With Confidence

I researched online (endlessly) for the small kiln that I thought I wanted for firing metal clay jewelry, but I really wanted to talk it all out with someone who knows about these. I have a medium-sized kiln for firing stoneware, but I knew nothing about the smaller kilns for metal clay. I wanted to know if I really needed certain features (did I need that window?) and if the really small kiln would suffice rather than the one that seemed just a tad bigger (does a little larger really make a difference?). After talking with Gail at Kiln Frog, I chose a different kiln than I would have if I didn’t talk out my needs and if I didn’t hear her thoughts based on her experience. I feel confident that I made the right choice in kilns thanks to Gail at Kiln Frog. And I also appreciate the ongoing news I get via email about kiln care, etc. I could have purchased from another dealer closer to where I live, but no one ever never returned my phone calls… But I found Kiln Frog answered their phone, and they were right on the ball with a more personalized service, and that’s exactly what I needed.
