O.K... we're biased, we have used the Olympic Square 186GFE, and it's really great. It's big enough to slump a couple of wine bottles but ready to fire platters, candle bridges, big bowls and more. We cast in ours, we also did screen melts too. The shelf is 16" square so it fits nine 4" square plates at once.
The Olympic Square 186GFE requires a dedicated circuit, but still works on 120 volts. A toggle switch on the controller allows you to use your lid element or your side elements only, or you can switch on the fly from fusing with the lid coil to annealing with the side coils. We highly recommend this kiln. It's strong, does a great job, and it's extremely flexible. If viewing window or bead/punty door is added, the max firing temperature changes to only 1600°F.
